- THis is all very well, but sometimes (quite often actually) a mod does
- not contain any proper credits , rather just some cryptic phrases that make
- it hard to contact the author if you wanted to.

- It also appears to be legal (here in the US at least) to use short samples
- of original work. Listen to the radio and you'll hear tons of it. Just
- today I heard a commercial that featured a loop of a Queen song. They
- simply played the refrain over and over again.

- So the legality of this gets very sticky, especially when you consider
- that many mods use samples from songs to start with.

- I think a good rule of thumb is to use anything you want for
- non-profit purposes. If you intend to make money of a product where
- mods are present you should make every attempt to contact the author.
- A good way to do this is to post right here in c.s.a.audio.
